“As a woman who continues to pursue higher education, as well as an individual who continues to support women around the world through yoga and sound healing, I am honored to be part of the YGB community. For a long time and without knowing, I have stood by the ethos of the Yoga Gives Back Foundation, for all the aforementioned, and for working selflessly for many years giving back to targeted communities in need of yoga.”
Lizbeth (MA., MS., IAYT-800., E-RYT., YACEP), is a multicultural practitioner from Mexico who took her first yoga class at age 18 while living in the US and shortly thereafter she started teaching at her local studio. After finishing college she was accepted to the Graduate Yoga Studies Master’s degree program at Loyola Marymount University where she received a Buddhist fellowship. During her studies, she taught yoga with the Los Angeles County and Federal Prison population, as well as foster care institutions, and halfway houses for women in transition.
While in graduate school, Lizbeth traveled to India to study, completing advanced yoga teacher training, and acquiring several trauma-informed yoga certifications. Her graduating thesis focused on the applications of yoga for women and health at the Los Angeles South Central Family Health Center. Captivated by medical yoga she finished a Masters in Yoga Therapy Degree from the Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2021.
Lizbeth’s work has taken her to open her home studio in Los Angeles, back to India to work, and a plethora of collaborations in Mexico and alongside experts in the US.
