Working as a midwife, I had many opportunities to work with women and children with economic difficulties. I was interested in the situation of women and children not only in Japan but also in India and other developing countries. However, I did not know how to work for such people on my own. I am very happy to have this opportunity to participate in YGB activities, which will give me the chance to put into action the thoughts and feelings I have had for a long time. I will do my best to expand this activity to ‘give back to India the benefits I have received from yoga.’
While working as a midwife at a hospital, Ay started yoga to refresh herself, and soon became captivated by the charm of yoga and obtained a teaching certification.
While she mainly provides lessons to women who are pregnant or raising children, in recent years, she has expanded her activities to enjoy yoga with a wide range of age groups, including children and seniors.
