Yoga Gives Back is an inspirational non-profit organization who has given me the opportunity to live Yoga off my mat and to transform my practice into action. I am continuously thankful to YGB for globally raising our awareness and being the bridge for us to help those in need. When mothers and children rise, we all rise.
Alexandra South was first introduced to Yoga in 2001 and began teaching Yoga in 2006. She became certified to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga by Paul Dallaghan, Harmony Slater, Neil Barker and Jeff Lichty.
She is also certified to teach Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga for the Pelvic Floor. She tailors her teachings to support people in time, place and circumstance, while also focusing on supporting women through life transitions.
Alexandra practiced and taught Yoga in London (UK), Sydney (AUS), Los Angeles (CA), and now Dallas (TX). Throughout these times she’s been encouraged by the practice and by her teachers to deeply listen and to value her internal rhythms, adapting the practice as needed to cultivate balance. Yoga has continuously created a nest for healing and a place where she can unravel.
Her greatest teachers are her children, who constantly remind her of her forgotten self and that yoga is the connection to life.
“Yoga is the connection to life”.
