“Last year I went to Nepal as a volunteer and was impressed by the children’s positive attitude towards life, though they live in extreme poverty. I thought that there were many children around the world who need help. But even when I wanted to do something, I did not know what to do. I heard about YGB’s International Yoga Day Campaign and reached out to YGB Founder Kayoko to extend her my support. I am very happy to be part of such beautiful cause.”
When Sayaka was 10 years old, she was introduced to yoga by her mother. Prior to becoming a yoga instructor she studied yoga, Ayurveda, aromatherapy and nutrition.
By incorporating yoga into child development Sayaka found that children responded positively, became open to cooperation and communication became more effective. Sayaka occasionally instructs yoga at nursery schools and elementary schools.
Even though, Japan is doing well economically, the suicide rates of minors are high and truancy rate increases every year. Sayaka would love to educate the children that being born is the most wonderful thing in the world. She is putting great effort into introducing yoga into school programs all over Japan.
