Purnima Continues to Fight for Her Daughter

During our Seva Trip this January, we met with Prunima and her daughter. Prunima shared with us her hardships and struggles with an alcoholic husband and an indifferent family in-law.  Prunima said if it were not for YGB’s microloan program and our NGO partner NISHTHA’s dedicated support, she could not have raised her daughter on her own.

Pritha and Nathan Ogden joined this visit with her mother Marite who grew up in Kolkotta but never witnessed these rural women’s stories in person

They survived and now challenge her husband’s constant abuse.  Today, her daughter is YGB’s five-year SHE (Scholarship for Higher Education) student aiming to receive a college degree. This is how YGB’s global support is making a real difference in many lives in India. Imagine if #OneMillionYogis came together? Join us today to give back!
