“I support the mission of YGB as I am passionate about improving the lives of women and children in India, which has been something close to my heart for 30-plus yrs. My earliest years of chanting mantras was in the South of India in Maharashtra where I came face to face with the deprivation of poverty particularly with children where I spent one Xmas chanting with children in an orphanage there. These children had been rescued from railway tracks where they had been abandoned. I was also deeply moved by one young Indian mother I met who had no money to pay for her son to go to school. I was struck by her hair which was strikingly short and stood out as all the other women in the village had long braided hair. She told me that the only thing she felt she could offer to God was her hair, which she lay at the feet of the deity in her rural village temple. She prayed that in exchange she would be blessed with funds for her sons education!
Chanting mantra has blessed my life and it is really important to me to give back to India all that I have received in whatever way I can and YGB is a wonderful organization for offering.”
