Julie (@juliecarmen3), is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Yoga Therapist, Director Yoga Therapy for Mental Health at Loyola Marymount University Yoga Therapy Rx, and Founder / Director of Yoga Therapy for Behavioral Health Supervised Clinical Practicum at Venice Family Clinic in Los Angeles.

Julie brings decades of professional and lived experience and wisdom to her offerings. She designed and implemented the yoga therapy and drama therapy programs at Passages Drug and Alcohol Residential Treatment Center. Julie founded and taught at the first LA Unified School District Pregnant Teens Yoga Therapy Program. She taught at Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center under the guidance of Lauren Peterson and Carolyn Costin, MA. She originally trained as a drama therapist in Manhattan with Ray Gordon of Cell Block Theatre. Julie taught for over a decade at Exhale Center for Sacred Movement in Venice, California.

After they played best friends in a movie of the week, Julie became Suzanne Somers’ private yoga teacher for 21 years and ended up with chapters in Suzanne Somers’ books Ageless and A NEW WAY TO AGE”.

Julie wrote the chapter “Eating Disorder Complexity and Yoga Professionals” in the book Yoga and Eating Disorders edited by Carolyn Costin and Joe Kelly, and published by Routledge. As an actress, Julie danced on Broadway, choreographed off Broadway and starred in over 30 Hollywood films. She is currently working as a documentary and film producer.
