I first became aware of YGB when I attended a live event in Santa Monica. Since then, I’ve learned a lot about the organization and Kayoko’s mission. As a student and teacher of so many Yoga practices and principles, I also feel deeply indebted to the contribution India has made in terms of so much culture and tradition. By helping the women and children of that country, arguably among the most vulnerable, I feel that we at least begin to repay a debt and, moreover, show respect in a way that so many well-intentioned Yoga leaders in the American community fail to do. As for me, I only had sisters growing up, and as an adult only shared my life with a wife and daughter. Women have always been some of the most important people in my life, and I am particularly drawn to an organization that seems to show such reverence for the women and children of India.
