DEEPLY MOVING FIRST WEEK OF SEVA TRIP
Global Ambassadors, Anouk Prop (The Netherlands), Harmony Slater (Canada), Kay Epple (USA), Lauren Peterson (USA) and supporter Kendy Viazie (USA) have joined Kayoko on this 2024 trip.
First stop was at Deenabandhu Home in Chamarajanagara, Karnataka. YGB started our partnership with NGO Deenabandhu Trust in 2010 to support five orphaned children at this home.
14 YEARS LATER…
Today, the impact we have created together is beyond what words can describe. YGB’s global community is supporting 35 orphaned children with a caring home and a high quality elementary education. Our SHE (five-year Scholarship for Higher Education) supports 140 local underprivileged boys and girls. Over 100 youths have already graduated with bachelors or masters degrees and are making their dreams come true every day. They are helping their struggling families as well as becoming real change-makers in their communities. Our dreams are coming true every day.
TRANSFORMATION WITH GRATITUDE
It is profoundly moving to receive tremendous gratitude from all the children and youths we support. They are so grateful for these life-changing educational opportunities that they want to support younger generations once they establish themselves. This giving never goes only one-way.
We are blessed to work with this inspiring team at Deenabandhu Trust, so we can continue to support the big dreams of children and youths, that are becoming a reality year after year!
I sincerely hope you can see the real impact our global community is creating in so many lives with Yoga Gives Back.
Please follow our trip on Instagram and Facebook as we travel to West Bengal to visit programs with NGO NISHTHA in the second week of this Seva Trip.
We met with SHE Scholarship students who shared their stories of hardship, how this scholarship helps them to reach dreams.
We are grateful for Guru Krupa Foundation for their most generous grant to support YGB fund 140 students this year.
Visiting and hearing the real stories of SHE Scholarship students is the best way to learn about their families’ struggles, as well as witnessing how this scholarship provides real hope among all of them.

Project Shaale provides much needed educational resources (especially in Science and Math) for poorly funded government schools in remote villages. The 18-month school closure during the pandemic affected them severly.
YGB Ambassadors led a fun yoga class for boys and girls at Deenabandhu Home.
