At Yoga Gives Back, we believe that yoga is more than a practice on the mat. It is a way of living—one that encourages compassion, connection, and meaningful action in the world. We are thrilled to welcome Christine as our new Board Member.

Christine Woertink understands that connection deeply.

With nearly three decades of experience building brands, products, and businesses that have reached hundreds of millions of people, Christine brings an extraordinary combination of strategic leadership, creativity, and purpose to her work with Yoga Gives Back.

Her career has taken her through some of the world’s most recognized companies, including The Walt Disney Company, Electronic Arts, and Age of Learning, where she most recently led product strategy and monetization for ABCmouse.

From Global Brands to Grassroots Change

Throughout her career, Christine has worked at the intersection of marketing, product development, partnerships, design, and innovation. Her work has focused on understanding what people need, creating products and experiences that serve them, and building organizations capable of reaching people at scale.

At Age of Learning, Christine helped lead the strategy behind ABCmouse, an edtech subscription business that has served 50 million families. She spearheaded its global relaunch while also helping advance AI-driven personalization initiatives designed to create more meaningful learning experiences for children and families.

That experience—building products that educate and improve lives—is closely aligned with what drew Christine to Yoga Gives Back.

Because while the scale may be different, the purpose is remarkably similar: create opportunities that can change lives.

Yoga Beyond the Mat

For Christine, Yoga Gives Back represents one of the most powerful principles of yoga: that our practice should extend beyond ourselves.

“To me, Yoga Gives Back is the yoga sutras in action: that practice isn’t confined to the mat, that it’s meant to move through us and into the world.”

That philosophy is at the heart of Yoga Gives Back.

Through programs supporting women and children in India, YGB turns the values of yoga into tangible action. From education and scholarships to microloans and initiatives that create greater economic opportunity, the organization works directly with communities to help create pathways toward a stronger future.

Christine sees that work as a natural extension of the practice.

Building Things That Make a Difference

Christine’s professional career has been defined by building: building brands, products, partnerships, teams, and experiences that reach people.

But her motivation goes beyond growth and scale.

She describes her passion as “building things that educate, inspire, and improve lives.”

That perspective makes her experience especially valuable to Yoga Gives Back. As the organization continues to grow its global community and expand its impact, Christine brings a perspective shaped by years of leading complex initiatives and connecting creative ideas with practical strategies.

She understands how to think big while remaining focused on the people ultimately affected by the work.

A Shared Commitment to the Future

Christine holds a B.S. in Advertising and a B.A. in English, both with Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin. Based in Los Angeles, she now brings her extensive experience and creative perspective to Yoga Gives Back as part of its leadership community.

She is especially inspired by the dedication of YGB founder Kayoko Mitsumatsu and the organization’s Board, Advisors, and Ambassadors.

“Led by the extraordinary dedication of Kayoko and her team, the Board, Advisors, and Ambassadors, YGB embodies that truth, building real, grassroots change in the lives of the women and children of India.”

For Christine, joining Yoga Gives Back isn’t simply about lending her professional expertise to an organization she believes in. It is about helping carry a movement forward.

“I’m honored to bring my experience to Yoga Gives Back and help carry the work and impact forward for years to come.”

Turning Practice Into Purpose

Yoga teaches us that transformation begins within—but it doesn’t have to end there.

Christine Woertink is helping Yoga Gives Back turn that principle into action. She brings decades of experience, creativity, and strategic leadership to an organization committed to creating lasting change.

Because when our practice moves beyond the mat, it has the power to change more than ourselves.

It can change a life and an strengthen a family. It can help a girl pursue an education. And give a woman the opportunity to build a livelihood, and create possibilities for generations to come.

That is yoga in action.

And that is the spirit Christine brings to Yoga Gives Back.
