Meet Bhoomika: A Journey of Resilience and Education

    Meet Bhoomika!

Born into poverty in India, Bhoomika lost her father at a young age. Her childhood was marked by hardship—her mother struggled to support the family alone, and her brother was forced to give up his dream of becoming an engineer due to financial constraints.

Through Yoga Gives Back’s SHE (Scholarship for Higher Education) Program, Bhoomika was given the support she needed to continue her studies. She earned a Master’s degree in Computer Applications, a milestone that transformed her life trajectory. Today, she works as a Training Process Associate at Rprocess Pvt. Ltd. in Mysore, thriving in a field that once felt out of reach.

    Impact of the SHE Program

Education is more than a degree—it’s a life-changing pathway out of poverty. Thanks to the support of the global yoga community, Bhoomika’s story reflects how YGB’s SHE program transforms not only individual lives, but entire families.

    • 🎓 Over 500 SHE scholars supported since the program began.

    • 💼 Graduates now working as teachers, nurses, engineers, computer scientists, entrepreneurs, and corporate professionals.

    • 🌍 Many become first-generation college graduates, breaking generational barriers to education.

For Bhoomika, this scholarship was not just about tuition—it was about freedom, dignity, and opportunity.

By investing in young women like Bhoomika, we help them become first-generation college graduates, role models, and community leaders—breaking the cycle of poverty for good.

    Global Yoga Community in Action

Yoga Gives Back was founded on a simple yet powerful idea: for the cost of one yoga class, you can change a life. This principle reflects the practice of karma yoga in action—using the benefits of yoga practice to give back to the communities where yoga was born.

Bhoomika’s success story is a testament to what happens when the global yoga community unites. Every contribution—from monthly donors to yoga studios hosting fundraisers—creates a ripple effect that empowers women in India to rise, thrive, and lead.

When a girl like Bhoomika succeeds, her family succeeds. When her family succeeds, her community grows stronger. This is how the circulation of gratitude becomes a force for lasting change.

    Bhoomika’s Legacy of Hope

Bhoomika represents more than her own achievement—she represents a generation of young women in India who are rewriting their futures with the support of the SHE Program.

Her brother’s dream of becoming an engineer may have been lost to poverty, but Bhoomika’s accomplishment shows that change is possible when opportunities meet determination. She is now a role model for her peers, a source of pride for her family, and a living example of YGB’s mission.

Her journey from hardship to hope to success is a story we can all celebrate—and a reminder of the power of education.
