PLEASE MEET MAYA AND ABUNA.

Last month while on Seva Trip, we met with two hard-working daughters, Maya and Abuna, in a rural village of West Bengal. They are both graduates of YGB’s  Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE), successfully graduating with bachelors degrees. Maya is a elementary-level teacher at NGO NISHTHA’s Day Care Center, and Abuna works in sales at a major electric appliance store.

For a long time, their mother had to endure ridicule and derision from the villagers because there were no boys in the family.

THESE TWO DAUGHTERS PROVED THEM WRONG!

With their stable earnings, Maya and Abuna are now supporting their parents, as well as saving to rebuild their home that was severely damaged during a horrendous Cyclone Amphan in 2020. Today, their mother is so happy and proud of her two wonderful daughters who have become important role models in this remote village.

We were so inspired to witness these two girls’ dedication for their family’s life, and the tremendous progress in their own lives through their higher education and in spite of many obstacles.

After ten years, our SHE scholarship program now sends hundreds of graduates just like Maya and Abuna into the real world, who inspire and model, through their own lives, the fact that educational opportunities are the best tools for generational transformation. We are elated to see their shining smiles!

This year, your support will ensure 400 disadvantaged youths to continue higher education with YGB’s five-year Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE).

$20 a month or $250 a year will support one student for an entire year.

Together, we are making a real impact for generations to come. Thank you.

Big thanks to Ambassadors Anouk Prop (The Netherlands) and Michelle El Khoury (USA) to join me in this life-changing Seva Trip and share how YGB’s global community’s support is creating an incredible impact in many lives in India.

This is YOGA.
