“Over the past 10 years that I’ve been with Yoga Gives Back, I’ve had the profound privilege of witnessing children progress through their education, ultimately building sustainable futures for themselves and their communities. Many of these children, along with their mothers, seized the singular opportunity provided by YGB, transforming lives that once seemed hopeless into inspiring success stories. I’m deeply grateful to be part of this empowering organization and look forward to continuing our mission—helping many more individuals create successful, happy, and independent lives.”

Sharda is a dedicated activist for human rights, animal welfare, and environmental protection. She integrates these passions into a philosophy she terms “compassionate activism,” which she teaches in schools in Portugal.

For over 15 years, Sharda has been sharing yoga practices in different parts of the world, focusing particularly on vulnerable communities. Her commitment to holistic well-being extends to her work as a plant-based nutritionist, where she promotes vegan foods and lifestyle for better health and a kind and sustainable world.

As the world continues to descend into imbalance, the need to build strong, compassionate communities has become not just a necessity—but our only path forward. This growing disharmony affects us all: people, animals, and the planet alike.

Yoga means “to connect,” and this is the principle we, as yogis, must wholeheartedly embrace. We are one with all living beings, and it is the illusion of separation that leads us to act in ways that are disconnected and inauthentic, if we want to heal we need to start taking individual responsibility.

That’s why I am deeply committed to raising awareness of our shared oneness. I do this by sharing powerful documentaries, with all proceeds going directly to support Yoga Gives Back, bringing the cycle of care full circle for people, animals, and the planet.

I recently hosted a documentary at a coworking space where I work. We did an event with vegan burger/drink/vegan dessert + documentary.

Soon I will hold another one at my home and in the next school year I will hold these events at schools. I also want to bring the yoga community together to raise awareness about authentic oneness and supporting Yoga Gives Back.

For anyone interested in hosting documentaries feel free to reach out, I am more than happy to make recommendations and offer support.
