🌸 Harmony’s Story

I’ve spent the past 25+ years walking the yogic path—and for 15 of those years, my journey has been deeply tied to India, and especially to the women and girls living there. Between 2004 and 2019, I made 17 trips to India, often staying for months at a time while studying Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore and immersing myself in Indian philosophy and meditation.I eventually became one of less than 20 women to receive a Certification at the highest level from R. Sharath Jois, back in 2015.

In 2006, while living in Mysore with very little income of my own, I began supporting the education of my housekeeper’s two daughters. For just $500, I was able to pay for a full year of tuition. One of those girls has since gone on to complete a Masters degree in computer engineering—a future that would’ve been unimaginable without external support.

That moment showed me what a small amount can do. It planted the seed for everything that followed.”

When I learned about Yoga Gives Back in 2013, and the work they were doing through the SHE Scholarship for Higher Education, it felt like a natural fit. I was already trying to help where I could—but now, I had the opportunity to be part of something much bigger.

Today, as a Board Member and long-standing Ambassador for YGB, I’m committed to expanding access to higher education for girls across rural India—especially in West Bengal, where the risk of early marriage, child labor, and trafficking is devastatingly high.

✨ Fuel Her Future: Empower Her Education, Transform Her World

Break the Cycle. Build Her Future. One Scholarship at a Time.
💡 Why It Matters:
  • India has the highest number of child brides in the world—5 million each year
  • Only 27% of girls in rural India graduate from high school
  • A single year of secondary education can reduce a girl’s risk of child marriage by up to 64%
  • Over 200 SHE graduates have completed college degrees and are now working as nurses, teachers, and social advocates—many as the first in their families to do so.

🎓 About the Campaign

The SHE Program provides five-year scholarships that cover college tuition and academic fees for girls from families living in extreme poverty. These girls are often the first in their families to pursue higher education—and once they graduate, they go on to uplift their communities in powerful ways.

In 2024, I had the chance to join the YGB Seva Trip and visit the communities we support. It’s hard to describe the conditions these families live in until you’ve seen them firsthand. And yet, the strength, resilience, and dreams of these young women are what inspired me to launch:

💥 Fuel Her Future — A Matching Campaign to Raise $10,000

All donations will go directly to funding tuition for girls in West Bengal through the SHE Program. And through the doTERRA Healing Hands Match, every dollar will be doubled, up to $10,000—bringing us to our $20,000 goal.

💞 Join the Movement

I hope this campaign reminds you that you don’t need to be wealthy or have a massive platform to change lives.

I started by helping two little girls. Now, together with other YGB ambassadors, I’m helping hundreds.

This campaign blends everything I love—yoga, Spinal Energetics, breathwork, and impact. It’s a reminder that:

“Your skills, your story, your energy—everything you offer can become a vehicle for change.”

Whether you host a class, share a post, or make a small donation, every effort matters. And with the doTERRA match, now is the perfect time to amplify your voice and double your impact.
