When Charlotte stepped into a small yoga studio on Vancouver Island for her first class she felt an immediate connection. Since she began her journey in 2015, yoga has helped her cultivate balance, mindfulness, strength and flexibility both on and off the mat.
Charlotte completed her first 200 hour YTT in 2022. She now has her RYT 550. As a teacher, Charlotte is eager to share the benefits of yoga with others. She aims to empower students to embrace the practice, no matter their ability or experience.
For many years Charlotte has been guided on her yoga journey by Deborah Carruthers of Vancouver Island Yoga School. Conversations with Deborah, a YGB ambassador and SEVA participant, is how she learned of the meaningful work being done by Yoga Gives Back. Charlotte has happily supported and assisted many fundraising efforts for the cause and is now excited to become an ambassador herself. Being part of this global community with a mission to improve the lives of women and young girls in India is both humbling and inspiring.
Why I want to support YGB: “I feel that all girls deserve the right to an education. Education changes lives, and gives the opportunity to see a brighter future ahead. Through this, cycles of poverty, abuse and inequality can be broken.”
