We came together for a day of inspiration, mindfulness, and yoga to raise funds to support more than 2400 women and children with Yoga Gives Back programs of empowerment in India.
We were honored to present our humanitarian Namaste Award to Christy Turlington Burns, Founder & President of Every Mother Counts, for her dedication as global maternal health advocate since the day she became a mother.

Every Mother Counts（EMC）の創設者で社長の Christy Turlington Burns（クリスティ・ターリントン・バーンズ）の妊産婦の健康への取り組みは、2003 年に出産に関連した合併症を経験した後に始まりました。この経験は、後に世界中の妊娠中および出産中に女性が直面する問題を取り上げたドキュメンタリー長編映画 No Woman, No Cry を監督し、制作するきっかけとなりました。 クリスティのリーダーシップの下、Every Mother Counts はアフリカ、ラテンアメリカ、南アジア、米国のプログラムに 2,500 万ドル以上を投資しており、世界中のすべての母親の妊娠と出産を安全なものにすることに重点を置いています。 長年のヨガ実践者として、クリスティは世界に変化をもたらすよう私たちにインスピレーションを与え続けています。

Senior Editor, Yoga Journal
Tamara became Senior Editor at Yoga Journal after a career as a writer, editor, researcher, and yoga instructor.
Tamara will introduce Christy at our Namaste Award presentation.
As a journalist, Tamara covered all aspects of health with a special interest the health issues of women and people of color, public health, and yoga’s impact on mental wellness. Prior to taking her role at Yoga Journal, she was a college journalism professor and taught the first for-credit yoga course at a historically Black college.
